It is completely normal to feel nervous before trying something new. Here is exactly what happens.
Tell us which class sounds good, then pick a time that fits your week.
Bring a mat and a water bottle. Bolsters, blankets, straps and blocks are waiting for you. Doors lock once class begins, so the room stays calm.
Your teacher guides you step by step with options throughout. Rest, modify or simply observe whenever you like.
While no one in the class ever brought up their traumas, the feeling I got coming to the classes was like I was at home. The classes, instructors and environment felt good. Yeah, those are my people!
I genuinely look forward to every class and having that time for myself. The studio itself is spacious, clean, welcoming, and completely beginner-friendly.
Practicing yoga for the past year has greatly diminished my anxiety levels. My mental focus and clarity have never been sharper. My habitual insomnia is gone.
The Teal Yogi grew out of a season of my own life when everything felt like a lot. Yoga became one of the few places where I could stop, breathe, and have a little space that was just mine.
When I opened this studio, I wanted other people to have that kind of place too. Somewhere you don't have to perform, keep up, or walk in pretending everything is fine. Somewhere you can show up exactly as you are and know there is room for you here.

Read our story and meet the teachersNo experience is needed. Many students come to The Teal Yogi for their very first yoga class. Our teachers offer options for every body and every experience level, and you are always encouraged to move at your own pace. Simply showing up is enough.
If you are new to yoga, start with Rise & Restore or Restore & Renew. They move at a slower pace and focus on gentle movement, relaxation and nervous system support, which makes them ideal for beginners or anyone returning to movement after time away.
That is completely normal, and many students feel the same way before their first visit. You will be welcomed into a calm, supportive room where your teacher guides you step by step. Classes begin slowly so you have time to settle in, and you are always free to rest, modify or simply observe. There is nothing you need to prove here.
No. Our classes are trauma-sensitive, but sharing personal experiences is never expected or required. You are welcome to practice quietly and privately. The focus is on movement, breath and a safe space where you can reconnect with your body at your own comfort level. Classes are not a substitute for therapy, though many students find them a helpful companion to it.
Your first class is on us. Tell us a little about you, pick a time that works, and we will have a mat-sized space waiting.
Step 1 of 2. Next, you pick a time that works for you.
